Xilica Designer's Dante View is a scaled back version of Audinate's Dante controller.
If you are having trouble and need to verify Dante network information, please use Dante controller. If you are receiving Dante error messages or having trouble with Dante, please visit Audinate's FAQ.
If you do not want Xilica Designer to handle Dante connections, go to Settings > Preferences > General tab at the top of the software. Check "Skip Dante Configuration" and "Done" to save changes. This will always Skip Dante Configuration in Xilica Designer.
Another option is when going online, in the "Load Design to Devices" window, uncheck "Skip Dante Configuration" to skip Dante configuration when deploying the project.
In Dante view, Dante hardware blocks are listed on the left. To re-arrange blocks, click and drag blocks to the new order.
The blocks display the IP address for the Dante card, clock status (Slave or Master), Preferred master, and if the devices are in sync.
Right click the device block > Dante Device Setup.
Dante tab: Provides information about Dante card, software and firmware versions running in it, and Soft reset Dante device.
Dante Network Setup tab: Configure IP address, view transmit and receive error count, and reset error count.
Dante Config tab: Setup device sampling rate, encoding, clock state, preferred master, and select network latency.
Dante Channel Setup tab: Name nodes, Mute all channels, Unmute all channels.
Click "Done" to exit the window.
Making connections in Dante View
Transmitters are listed in the X-axis (horizontal), Receivers are listed in Y-axis (vertical).
To make a connection, click and drag from one node to another node (Transmit to receive). Click and drag a selection box around multiple nodes to connect multiple nodes at once.
If a connection is made, click on the device block. You will see a link between the devices.
Note: If Project View is open and includes Dante wiring between devices, all wiring will be reflected from Project View; meaning any changes done in Dante View will be overwritten by Project View's Functional drawing when the project is deployed or if the hardware is rebooted. (Please see Project View below)
In Network View, the device block will display a Dante emblem on the top right of the block.
Right click the device block > Device Setup.
The Dante, Dante Network Setup, Dante Config, Dante Channel Setup tabs are the same menus as displayed in Dante view. (Please see Dante View section above).
Create or open a project with the Dante devices.
The number of Dante nodes can be configured in the Object Properties menu.
Click and drag Dante nodes from one device to another to create connections.
When connections are made in Project View and the project is deployed, the connections in Project View will automatically connect in Dante View and Audinate's Dante controller.
If you want to make a change to the connections, edit the connections from Project View. Wiring will be reflected from Project View; meaning connections done in Dante View will be overwritten by Project View's Functional drawing when the project is deployed or if the hardware is rebooted.
Also when going online, if you do not want Xilica Designer to handle Dante connections, when the "Load Design to Devices" window appears, check "Skip Dante Configuration".
