If the device O/S is corrupted (Ex. Device was powered OFF while performing a Firmware upgrade), the user will have to perform a full firmware recovery.

  1. Download the latest firmware version for your device from the Xilica website.
  2. Save any design files from the device onto your computer as all programmed data on the device will be erased during the upgrade process. After the firmware upgrade is completed, you may reload the design file back to your device.
  3. Connect the device via USB to the host computer. Then connect the Ethernet port to the network.
  4. Holding the IP Reset button on the device, power ON the device. The device will be rebooted in recovery mode. In recovery mode, the DSP indicators will begin flashing in a special pattern.
  5. Open Xilica Designer's Network view and select the device.
  6. At the top of the software, select the Device Management tab > Solaro USB Firmware Recovery > CPU Board Firmware Recovery. Please note that Xilica Designer Projects must be closed for this function.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the USB Firmware recovery. Please note that the Firmware Recovery will erase the entire device!
  8. The Recovery process has now begun. The process will take 30-40 minutes to complete. DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE.
  9. When complete, the device will automatically reboot and appear in Network View. At this stage the process is only half complete. It will appear in "Recovery mode". In this mode, the only action available is to perform the second half of the recovery.
  10. Right click on the device block and select Firmware Recovery. A window will appear and select the latest Firmware file for the device. The device will then perform the second stage of the recovery. This will take approximately five minutes. DO NOT POWER OFF THE DEVICE.
  11. Once complete, the device will automatically reboot and should display as connected and online in Xilica Designer's Network View. The device is ready for use.
